I had no idea this was in MAME! I understand it's not playable, but still, that's awesome! I've just grabbed the CHD and looking around, amazing to see a Windows directory, an Actua Soccer Arcade game directory, all kinds of stuff.

Looking at the game itself, it looks pretty standard minus the protection when you try to play. I'm trying to switch over certain files from my original game to see if I can get something happening. I've got the GLQuake executable here that was released by ID back in the day, luckily any standard OpenGL compatible card will run the game, (works fine under Windows 7 here, even in widescreen without any modifications to it). It'll be hard to get up and running on original hardware I think, much easier at the moment to try and get the game running on modern hardware with an OpenGL card. I've got nGlide installed here, (3DFX emulator), and while the game crashes with an overflow error, it at least tries to load, none of the traditional commands work though, there may be some that do. I'm not sure what I did before, but previously when I hit ESC, the menu came up, but I can't get this work anymore for some reason. It wouldn't be too difficult to get up and running outside of MAME to have a look at how the game works surely?

Screengrab of Quake Tournament Arcade:

After deleting a few CFG files, it runs. I'd have use one of my CFG files to get the controls back as you can only use the mouse it seems, I couldn't find the shoot button. More playing around should allow for the movies to play as well.

Thanks to Carl, emulated Linux networking is now working via TAP/TUN. Now I can download and install apps directly. smile

RH 6.2 still hates our NE2000, so he's not done yet ;-)

Windows 2000 Professional SP1 installs OK with the S3, but it looks like the acceleration has some issues smile

(No, this isn't a repeated screenshot, it's one F12 .png).

I guess something Pentium / PCI related, although that KH game does run in MAME if you type the boot command. (Somebody on MW said they think that one is a bad dump because the sectors of the HDD containing the autoexec.bat are blank, although I guess it could be a protection typing the content automatically)

Missing BIOS dump/information.

It's a PC, I'm sure you can use something mostly compatible, you can probably roughly derive what it should have had from what's installed on the drive...

Could be using 16-bit? The accelerated drawing functions have really only been tested at 8-bit.

Might be. With it looking like that it's a bit difficult to get at and read the settings smile
