GTK+ apps don't work but this Athena version of GVIM does.
It's not hard to set up it just took a while to find the correct parts. If anyone's interested I'll try to write up what you need.

If you have the time needed, I think it would be nice to have the instructions in the sticky thread smile

You can run Dosbox in MESS.

On a completely different computer.

Cute. If SDL apps cooperate with DV/X, then you should be able to run current MESS in MESS too smile

One last DVX post.

You could run a windows 3.1 standard mode session in a window.

And even remote it to another xserver. They are different instances of windows and were running at the same time. I don't know why the remote one is in monochrome though.

Not much to say about this except it works and it isn't very interesting.

It does work on an XT with MDA graphics which is a bit impressive.

Tried an old(ish) version of Ubuntu... starts to boot, but locks up at some point.

Disabling the splash screen (or not using a video card with a VESA compatible BIOS) will get you to a prompt of sorts... (you'll need r22276 or later to view it)

It's a bitch to install, it doesn't seem to like the ne2000 emulation and I don't know how to use it. Seems to work fine with the 286 in protected mode though.

Bit of nostalgia. In high school there was a classroom with one of these and a network of IBM PS/2 model 30's. Probably get suspended today with what I did in there.

Well, now that we have two things that don't like the ne2000 emulation that should be some reasonable cases to fix it at least smile

Looks like the problem is the ne2000 driver only supports a limited number of configurations. It's default won't work and I can't figure out how to get it to choose a different one.

Edit: Turns out you have to rebuild the kernel to change anything.
