Isn't this system supported any more? I have an old version of Mess (mess0102b) where the Sord M5 works.

Tried the last MESS revision and both (Japanese/International version) drivers are working.
No problems to load/start cartridges or cassettes.

Ah, it was only a name change that tripped me up. Thanks!
Is cassette loading fixed? It still says it doesn't at http://www.progettoemma.net/mess/system.php?machine=m5p

The cassette loading is working for me.

Example (by using the fullpath):

MESS.exe m5 -cartridge "C:\Emulator\Mess\Software\SordM5\Cartridge\Basic-i.rom" -cassette "C:\Emulator\Mess\Software\SordM5\Cassette\Wav\ZacBanic.wav"

Depending on the type of tape, enter "TAPE" or "CHAIN" to load the cassette.
In my case (example) it is "TAPE".

PS: The .cas extension is working too.

Yes, I have tried it now. One thing that didn't work, was to write some short basic program and save it as a .cas. When I tried to mount it again, mess says: "Unable to load image" and "Internal error". If I save it as .wav it works ok, so it's not really important.
It would be nice to have memory expansions working also, Basic-G and Basic-F has some extra memory when you use it on a real machine. There's also the EM-5 32kb RAM expansion cartridge.

PS. here a picture of my Sord-system smile

Nice picture. smile
Im interested on your FD-5 disk system. It seems it use 3" floppy disks.
The MESS drivers (m5/m5p) have a 5.25" disk interface (?).
However, I can not test the disk interface because of missing disk images.
It will be nice if you can support us with disk images.

You can use the "-ramsize" parameter to add more RAM (36/68KB) for the MESS driver but Im not sure it works.
A RAM/Memory test program in Basic will be not bad.
4KB (internal RAM) is the default value.

Example (by using the fullpath):

Mess.exe m5 -ramsize 69632 -cartridge "C:\Emulator\Mess\Software\SordM5\Cartridge\Basic-F.rom"

Yes, the FD-5 disk system uses 3" disks. In my MessUI v0139b there's an entry for "Sord M5 + PI5 + FD5" (PI5 is the parallell interface you need to connect the FD5 to the Sord).
I'm not sure how I could create disk images.

The internal 4KB RAM in located from $7000 to $7FFF.
The EM-5 adds 32KB from $8000 to $FFFF.
I'm not sure, but I think Basic-G and Basic-F adds 4KB at $8000.
I have no idea what happens if you use Basic G/F together with the EM-5, since I haven't got the EM-5.

On my picture you see the EB-5 expansion box which has three cartridge slots. It's needed to use the disk system, because you need Basic-F in one slot and the PI-5 interface in another. One more slot is available for the EM-5 memory expansion which I hopefully will get hold of some day.
