You'll need to use the normal 'picker' to load that software. The software setting is for support of the software lists, located in your "HASH" folder. AFAIK, the internal UI is not set up for picker use on systems which require a cartridge to operate. MESSUI should have this option, or use the command line to load your game. SNES softlist items are are generally in a split format, much like NES titles are now.

Example:
mess snes -cart "e:\pathto\snesgames\smworld.smc"

Tafoid thanks for the reply....I am using MESSUI 0.149. My snes bios says "snes.zip". Is it supposed to say that or is it supposed to say "snes.bios"? Also you mentioned a HASH folder. I don't have this folder in my messui folder. Is it supposed to be there? If so, what is supposed to be in there?

I am using MESSUI. What is the "normal" picker you're referring to? How do you use it?

Neither. You don't mount the bios file, that is automatically loaded when you launch the system. Someone that commonly uses MESS?UI can answer your other questions, I haven't actively used it in years.

MESSUI

Which version of MESSUI are you using?

Are you able to load the SNES images by using the "Device View" > "SNES Cartridge Slot"?

What is the content of your snes.zip (BIOS/checksum)?

Basically, the SNES images are working on MESSUI.

Hello AnnaWu. I figured out the problem....all my images have the ".smc" extension. As soon as I changed one to .sfc it worked. Can I ask when was this change made? Or has MESS always been unable to run games with the .smc extension?

To answer your question, I am using MessUI v149 r24114b_64

Anyway, can someone please tell me an easy and quick way to change the extension on all my image files? I'm thinking a batch program could do it but not sure which one?

Hmm, the .smc format with the correct header should work too, just tried (MESS + MESSUI 0.149u1 32-bit).
The common image types (MESSUI) are *.sfc, *.zip and *.*, so the *.smc extension is not visible on the file dialog window by default.
Choose *.* for all files or zip your ROM image(s).

Restored the 2011-07-27 SNES bugs wiki page at the request of Tafoid.

I do not plan to continue updating it.
