Hi guys, been loving MESS a lot as you can see from my other threads smile

However, I can't figure out how to make the my HLSL settings stick and save. I have it enabled but every time I restart mess(and mame for that matter), the HLSL settings revert to default. I know it has something to do with modifying it a certain way within the in file, but I forgot how to do it frown

The developers of MESS have my sincere gratitude. Thank you guys.

I have it set that way already. But it still doesn't save. Isn't something like hlsl write 1 and then something else like read config or something?

Sorry, hlsl_read and hlsl_write are broken and will be removed eventually. If you find the settings you like from the sliders, I would suggest jotting them down in Notepad and then putting them directly in the INI file. smile

Some of the sliders settings not in the ini?

hstretch="0.978000" voffset="0.008000" vstretch="0.944000" and some others that I didn't see in the ini.

Please point those out in the ini. smile

Other wise have to do this in the cfg files.

Those have nothing to do with HLSL.

Thanks for the reply JD. Yeah I figured the sliders were broken. Too bad. But what's this....you guys will be removing HLSL altogether from MAME/MESS? Any reason why? What's going to take its place? An overlay setting of some sort?

Well for now, I guess I can use SweetFX to get my CRT/Scanline fix.

The developers of MESS have my sincere gratitude. Thank you guys.

Where did he say HLSL was being removed altogether? He's just removing the iniread/iniwrite since they are offending you smile

Mentioning SweetFX may well get everything removed from MAME however :P

The sliders aren't broken. Some of the settings aren't in the ini is saved in the games cfg file. Once those games cfg is deleted you have to do those missing ini settings all over again from the sliders. smile

Just Desserts I never said anything about those being in the HLSL. Bad me for talking about this here.

You seen some of the settings that aren't in the ini file that I copy from one of the games cfg? Why would anyone want to mess with the sliders on every single game? When they can just use the ini to do this? Now you see where I coming from. Do all Dev and everyone want to do this over and over again? Not even Haze I bet. laugh

That would make us looked Goofy right? LOL

I stop talking about it here. Shut me up. Two cents.

Is this valid for MAME as well?
