BTW the Virge datasheet has been mentioned a few times now is it available some where for download?
It's no big secret!
We have this version:
http://www.vogonsdrivers.com/getfile.php?fileid=326I am no longer sure of its origins other than smf found it online and shared it December 2011, swaaye uploaded it here 02/2012. Surely both came from the same source. Originally titled db019b.zip.
There's something else, I'm looking into it.
Anyways, I made sure VGAMuseum.info was notified in 2012, and they host a copy now in their labyrinthine installation.

In general, VGAMuseum.info has an archive of anything of interest recently on the GPU/CRTC/etc. video documentation front. Some nice ongoing collaboration between myself and vlask, sparked by some discussion or at VOGONS.

As for S3 documents in general:
DatasheetArchive scanned a bunch as part of some big S3 document cache they acquired.

Or else you can occasionally stumble over some with this Google search:

Bitsavers has also been working on scanning the occasional S3 manual and will no doubt acquire these for a better-than-DatasheetArchive rescan at some point.
