I remember being able to play this in the past, about 6 years ago. I'm not sure if a newer version of MESS might have broken its disk emulation or not...

I load ToD and I mount the disk image. I try to start a new game by pressing 2 for Disk 1. It prompts me for the filename. I type "quest" (i've also tried holding shift but the characters come in in uppercase anyway). I've also tried "pennies" to no avail. I get the error below:
FILE ERROR 0
DEVICE ERROR

I've tried MESSUI with MESS 0.151 and 0.154. I've tried different BIOS files and different ToD disk images. I'm not sure how to read the .dsk to see what it looks like is on it because I'm not sure how.
Any ideas? I'd love to be able to play this old classic again.

I believe you have to actually configure the emulated machine to have a Peripheral Expansion Box and disk drive card and stuff now, but mizapf will no doubt be along shortly to say the right things smile

Yes, mizapf is a very nice guy and I am sure he will help. smile
http://www.ninerpedia.org is very helpful.
Check the new changes.
I suggest to use QMC2 (launcher) which have a good slot options support.

Just made a short test via command line and it is working.

mess ti99_4a -peb:slot7 hfdc -cartridge "C:\Emulator\Mess\Software\TI994A\Cartridge\RPK\Languages\ExtendedBasic.rpk" -floppydisk1 "C:\Emulator\Mess\Software\TI994A\Floppy Disk\Extented Basic\Pitfall.zip"

Tunnels of Doom
I doesn't have the disk image because I use the cartridge version.

a hah. I needed hfdc.bin, something the command line told me that messui didn't. Thanks for the help!

cartridge version? is there a version that doesn't need to load a game form cassette or floppy?

I think Anna was confused - the cartridge version still needs to load from tape or disk.

Check the MAME GIT server and you will understand what i meant.

Quote:
<!-- Softlist entry for Tunnels of Doom -->
<software name="tundoom">
<description>Tunnels of Doom</description>
<year>1982</year>
<publisher>Texas Instruments</publisher>
<info name="serial" value="PHM 3042"/>
<part name="cart" interface="ti99_cart">
<feature name="pcb" value="standard"/>
<dataarea name="grom_socket" size="0xa000">
<rom name="phm3042g.bin" size="0xa000" crc="163caf9b" sha1="8e7fd331fc0390262482c572ce03bfff2abcbfc4" offset="0x0000" />
</dataarea>
</part>
</software>

Additional the driver support the .RPK format too which contains the .BIN and .XML files.

Command line example (without using the softlist):

Quote:
mess ti99_4a -peb:slot7 hfdc -cartridge "c:\Emulator\Mess\Software\TI994A\Cartridge\RPK\TunnelsOfDoom.rpk" -floppydisk1 "C:\Emulator\Mess\Software\TI994A\Floppy Disk\Extented Basic\TunnelsOfDoom.dsk"

Of course, you need the cassette or disk to load the data.
Sorry for the misunderstanding.
