Looking at the videos, I think Squish is basically a Game and Watch remake of the Black-box Famicom game "Devil World", which was never released in america due to Nintendo of America's policies against religious imagery. (It was released in Europe, though). The second level of "Devil World" with the four bibles floating in the corners which move along with the maze frame is awfully similar to the way Squish is with the four fuzzy guys in the corners... (I wonder if a reskinned version of it as 'Squish' was intended for NES but never released? or if there was a 'devil world' game and watch?)

You could say the same about the "Climber" game, which is basically Ice Climber without the ice. I don't think there's any early versions of these which share themes with their NES counterparts, they probably just learned their lessons and wanted to stay out of trouble (as in devils and clubbed seals) from the get go.

I just picked up a fairly rare Game & Watch game, "Pinball". It's a dual-screen game from 1985, so in theory it should be based on either the SM510 or the SM511.

Oh, yeah! I keep forgetting to post this here.

A couple months ago I brought all of the handhelds that I've acquired over the past year into work, and one of my coworkers spent an evening scanning them all in while his brother was busy playing Warhammer in the office tabletop gaming room.

He was gracious enough to put all of the scans up on Dropbox here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/v896t0cd28zwssg/AADGlKgrCCcg7CtTyCRv98Oma?dl=0

Not all of the scans are that great, since this was a flatbed scanner and a number of the handhelds were "shaped", but a number of them are pretty great. For those of you who are handy with art programs and want to try vectorizing the cases, by all means feel free!

Really nice, this will definitely be useful for creating artwork! hydef has done some really nice looking G&W artwork which can be found on the MW site, the artwork is posted in this thread: http://www.mameworld.info/ubbthread...p;view=expanded&sb=5&o=&vc=1

Recently, he has added artwork for Tropical Fish and Climber and they look stunning as well! I just sent him a notice about the scans shared here and hopefully he can make use of the them smile

Just leaving here this site I found where the "Sinclair Scientific" calculator has been reverse-engineered, in case that it could be useful for something:

I've read that site a few years ago, It's a very nice analysis. The older Datamath is on it too: http://files.righto.com/calculator/TI_calculator_simulator.html

MAME needs a TMS800 emulator if we're ever going to add these calculators. Personally, if I'm going to write a new calculator mcu core, I'm more interested in the TMS1500 for the TI-55 and TI-57 (see http://www.datamath.org/Sci/MAJESTIC/TI-57.htm )

Happy New Year everyone!

Black Jack has now been dumped and a PR has been added smile @JustDesserts: Thanks for supplying the game!

This game is interesting as it is based on the SM512 and also has never been simulated or emulated before AFAIK. The game displays has lots of segments (199 in total) and is therefore utilizing almost all of the 200 possible segments available on the SM512. The melody ROM has been dumped electronically in the same manner as for the Climber game and been marked as a BAD_DUMP.

The input controls has been mapped to joysticks (left joystick up/down and right joystick up/down). Perhaps it would have been better to instead use the IPT_GAMBLE_* IO-ports? Please advise me if you think this should be changed.

This is what the game looks like:
[Linked Image]

Scans of the display overlays (and parts of the game case) can be found here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/kkgf101f9ljlb41/AAAh3lW0jMZ0ykHqz4AQtgkYa?dl=0

Also, I just noticed on the MW forum that hydef has released artwork for all G&W games supported in MAME except for one. Check them out as they are awesome!
