JD is right, the game that has been dumped is the original 1980 version. The remake is done on completely different hardware and is Atmega based.

I saw a blue version of this (Letters of BALL is blue instead of black. Case redone by someone? I only found one screenshot of this.) and Timeout Tossup (White version and Red version. Plastics swap?) https://imgur.com/a/EhehTuB

That blue one is either a mockup or a screenshot of someone's simulator.

To ssj: Sean already has a new version that I sent him, so no need... thanks!!

To Dullaron: as hap partly mentioned... both the second and third pics in that link are mock-ups; not real pics. The blue one is completely wrong, as that is not even the correct case for the game. As for the first pic... looks like someone took the back off of Vermin and slapped it on there.

Sean also has a Toss Up that I sent him... so assuming the ROM data will match, but would be interesting if it was different. Other G&W games did have ROM revisions... but they aren't always apparent from the outside of the case (Judge had a different color case; Helmet you can't tell unless you take off the back).

Something I did just notice today... not sure if it's significant or not... the original version of Toss Up did not include the Mego Corp. logo on the right. After further digging, it looks like later versions did have the Mego logo, so wondering if that was simply a cosmetic change, or did something inside changed also?

RELAX and just have fun.
Remember, it's all about the games. smile

G&W Gold Cliff has now been preserved in MAME smile

This is, AFAIK, the first time this game has been emulated (or simulated)!

The game is based on the SM512 and looks like this:

@hydef: thanks for helping out with previewing the scans and images (and of course all artwork!)
@JD: thanks for supplying the game

Sean decapped Tiger Kazaam, and it's added to MAME:

Also related to handhelds:
With the previous MAME release, I added a PWM display device. It's meant for strobed displays such as LEDs/7segs, or VFDs. Nomore copypasted helper code in my drivers for outputs. It also supports multiple brightness levels, used for example in the LED football games.
