Got a little problem.. Hopefully it'll make sense.

The usual method for making the shadows or reflections doesn't produce the effect I think is needed for the Panorama games.

This image shows my current shadow method on the left. I'd like to it be like the right one, which is hidden behind the solid colours

I think it would be possible if the SVG had an almost black layer instead of the transparent one, but I'm unable to test as I can't load custom SVGs. I'm stuck.

If SVG background was darkgray instead of black, then the whole background (Background.png in mbaway) would bleed through when you blend them together.

But that sounds like it would work smile

The backgrounds could be masked to only show what you want to show and have a black layer beneath all that if needed

In that case, you can already do it if you mask the background and have a white layer beneath it. But, you might get alignment issues.

- shadow screen
- multiply by edited background
- screen with additive blending
- multiply by edited background

*edit* oh, the shadows would get blended with the background if they're 'under' an unlighted lcd segment. It won't be as noticeable as your example screenshot.

That's great, cheers. I'm pleased with that and it was less work than I thought. I can only get one shadow working, though, was hoping a 2nd would work but it didn't. Updated gnw_dkjrp and gnw_mbaway. If you want the units, DarthMarino has those. I don't have a completed bezel.

^Looks good. I'll incorporate this reflection technique to my current versions. I have the unit images for DK Circus prepped so I'll upload all 3 when it's running in MAME.

Great work guys! DK Cirkus scans had been uploaded to the Dropbox folder in case you need them. The lcd isn't finished yet though.

Like this?:
- 2 shadow screens with additive blend
- black rect above it to darken it to 0.09
- multiply background layer twice

Same thing applies as I said in my edited note, if there are overlaps, the background is multiplied more than once with a shadow segment.
