I have --roms-directory=f:\ROMS\MAME but can run only ZN-x games. For example zinc.exe 60 gives me dri1vera.2l not found blah-blah I had to copy mrdrillr.zip to zinc\roms dir. Also, new version of Aldo's frontend shows only ZN-x games.
System specs: Linux (2.6.29.4), A64 X2 5400+, 6Gb RAM, Quadro FX 5600.

AFAIK none of the frontends have been updated for 1.0 so they won't show a proper game list.
--roms-directory works for me, but please keep in mind that ZiNc cannot load by CRC while MAME can, so the files in the zip must be named according to the data shown by --list-sets. (This means a set could work and audit fine in MAME but not work in ZiNc - if you use e.g. ClrMamePro to rebuild the sets they should be fine though).

It's from Aldo's site: *updated* Aldo's Zinc Frontend 2.0 - October 24, 2004 by aldo Front-end for the new version of ZiNc 1.0, emulator of Sony ZN-1 and ZN-2, Capcom, Taito, Konami, Tecmo, and Namco System 11 that replaces S11Emu and ImpactEmu. Supports ZiNc 0.5, 0.9, 0.9a and 1.0, shows screenshots if JPG files are available in Shots directory (use subdirectories with same name of zips and put all JPG files you want). Use key/joypad config per game (if "Game Setting" switch is on). Support for combos and auto-fire. Netplay is disabled because it wasn't working. Includes the winterblast's Zinc Controller 1.5 New: Support for the Zinc 1.0, auto display the error messages I've unpacked zincfe.exe with UPX and and found text like this : 2 1 T e k k e n ( J P ) V e r etc, but it still shows only roms 1-26 (ZN games) even when "List only available roms" is unchecked. So it's bug in ZincFE, not in zinc
System specs: Linux (2.6.29.4), A64 X2 5400+, 6Gb RAM, Quadro FX 5600.

I have a problem with the roms. I have them in the "roms" subdirectory of my Zinc dicrectory, but when I start Zinc, it says can't find them! For example, if I want to play Xevious 3D/G, I type "zinc 39". After that, the following error appears: "ERROR: missing rom file: roms/xevi3dg.zip [xv31vera.2l]"
But I DO have the xevi3dg.zip file in the roms subdirectory! And it DOES contain xv31vera.2l ! In fact, all the roms I have are named according to the data shown with --list-sets ! What am I doing wrong?
P.S. I tried ZincFE and it says I have NO available roms, despite the fact I have Xevious 3D/G, Soul Edge, Tekken 2 and Gallop Racer!

The ROM names matter, unlike mame. 1 vs l, case, spaces, lots of stuff. Use Logiqx's new .DAT to find your problem.

Here's what I get with Clearmamepro and Logiqx's DAT:
You have 11 of 76 known Zinc v1.0.1 sets (+ BIOS sets)
atluspsx cpzn1 cpzn2 glpracr3 konamigv psarc95 souledge taitofx1 tekken2 tps xevi3dg
What's the problem?

The problem is your other ROM sets are wrong or out of date.

But those are the only romsets I have! And they are exactly the games I cannot play! As I already said, I have Xevious 3D/G, Soul Edge, Tekken 2 and Gallop Racer (and no other games), and I can't play any of them!

Stop crying and get a ROM manager to rename the roms that are still useful and start looking for those out of date roms start looking for the lastest dumps. If you really expect the developers to do something besides doing this great emulator then you must be consuming some powerful stuff :p
