Is there any chance of reposting the inside pictures from the OP? I'd like to verify the oscillator frequencies for this system.

Never thought this would get resurrected... I had (as usual) totally forgotten this conversation.

I still have a couple of emails from Mr Mutimer in my old email box, from 10 years ago.

I received ROM dumps from a Komtek-1 labeled machine, they are identical to the Radionic ones in the trs80.cpp driver.

There seems to be some confusion over the name and manufacturer of the machine. The MAME driver has the line

Code
COMP( 1983, radionic, trs80l2, 0, radionic, trs80l2, trs80_state, init_trs80, "Komtek", "Radionic", 0 )

the undumped MAME wiki has

Quote
S.C.S. GmbH Komtek-I (German TRS-80 clone ,likely the same as the Radionic R1001)

This article says that the German S.C.S. Gmbh produced the TRS-80 clones called Komtek 1, but the manuals have "Komtek Computers Ltd." on their front page.

The computer is called "Komtek 1" throughout the manuals, the name KT 1001 appears to be some sort of backsplanation from a clone of the Komtek 1, the Radionic R1001. Since the ROMs are identical, it was probably a case of badge enineering.

So it's either a "Komtek Computers Ltd. Komtek 1" or a "Radionics R1001" - or both smile

Unfortunately I no longer have the original images, I still have the machine however but the camera on this cheap phone is terrible and refuses to focus at all.
