I'm trying to get Ferrari GP (Ver 2.05) running. According to the program it needs a 16 color screen depth. I tried running it on a Macintosh IIvi, but it comes up with a 265 color screen, and changing the colors in the monitor "widget" corrupts the screen output in MAME. This is what it looks like when I change the screen color:

Any Mac model that comes with a 16 color screen?

Pretty much all supported Mac models work in 16 colors. Try the IIci.

I don't know - it used to work, but there was a lot of upheaval in those drivers last year and they're still pretty rarely used/tested.

Looking at this now. Looks like several of the modes are bad somehow.

So apparently the IIvx/IIvi video never worked exactly right. All modes should work now, including Thousands of Colors (16-bit) which previously stopped updating the video entirely (oops). Current GitHub has the fixes.
