I had forgotten about this thread from Rik's forum from a year ago: http://www.handheldmuseum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2146&start=45

The LCD driver in some Microvision units is labeled SCUS0488; others are labeled HLCD0488. Mego Sea Battle has an LCD driver labeled SCU0506.

There's a circuit Cellar article about LCDs that mentions these games: https://books.google.com/books?id=zAsN0XCHbFsC&pg=PA40&lpg=PA40

Another Handheld Museum thread talks about Gabriel Computer Othello that uses an LCD controller HLCD0541P (http://www.handheldmuseum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=701) and I've got a Mattel Computer Chess game that has 2 LCD controllers labeled HLCD0601. Interestingly, the chips in both games have the ".H" marking that the Simon and Battleship chips have.
