.FDI is one of those 'weird' flux formats we don't support YET, but I don't see any reason why someone couldn't add support for it. It is a somewhat complex format since it can represent tracks as pure flux, or in higher level (MFM/GCR) blocks, or as cooked data(i.e. what 'dd' would spit out).
