Those scans look great
Currently MAME's svg renderer (we use nanosvg) doesn't support embedded images though. And simple MAME external artwork won't work either: it's designed with bright screens in mind(eg. CRT), black pixels on top of a backdrop will show as transparent. The only option is external artwork made with OG's svg2lay tool.
