I'm guessing the CPU used by Radica is more or less the 6502 equivalent of what the Kawasaki KL5C80A12 is to the Z80: a high-performance core providing just the standard instruction set plus an assortment of on-chip peripherals, here almost certainly including a MMU as well as an interrupt controller.
