Solaris 1.1.2 gets to this point in a Custom Installation and then hangs (I let it sit there at 250% unthrottled for 10 minutes):

Solaris 2.5.1 can't mount its own CD that it just loaded the second-stage bootloader off of, but it might be that it's one of those .toast images that can't just be simply renamed to .iso:

The Solaris 2.6 installer never manages to connect to the X server, possibly because it failed loading due to unsupported command number 43 (READ TOC/PMA/ATIP):
