First, determine that it isn't age related deterioration. If it is, I wouldn't bother adding it to artwork. Youtube is good for references. Increase quality settings to HD, a lot of new videos are high resolution.
Mickey Mouse definitely has the cheese grate I couldn't notice it in any videos for Turtle Bridge On Fire Attack, you can see it, very slightly and 'bubbles' further apart:
