In that case, you can already do it if you mask the background and have a white layer beneath it. But, you might get alignment issues.
- shadow screen - multiply by edited background - screen with additive blending - multiply by edited background
*edit* oh, the shadows would get blended with the background if they're 'under' an unlighted lcd segment. It won't be as noticeable as your example screenshot.
