The switch wouldn't necessarily have to be on the PCB, it could just be a wired switch screwed to the case... (I was thinking that with Maniac too...)
But, damn, that is soooo close... smile
Do you have a higher-resolution photo of the back of the board? I could only find one for the front... It looks like there might be some writing on it, but not sure if it would be helpful...

And does it really seem to be playing games? I actually found a patent for a PIC 1655a controlled child's oven with sound effects and lights for the 'burners'... Didn't have a numeric display though, but you never what kind of weird toy this might have been designed for... smile
