Can anyone else verify if that game does or doesn't work, and if you can remap inputs to a joypad in the Tab menu for the x68000?
Perhaps I'm not explaining myself right - I'm not actually using a physical joystick but the emulated one.
With Thunder Force II, it accepts inputs from the emulated keyboard (which I understand uses the numpad and f11/f12) and also from the emulated joystick (which seems to correspond to Z/X and arrow keys because that's what I see for it in Tab menu).
Thunder Force II behaves with this just fine, but Gemini Wing is not accepting all the inputs for the emulated joystick - with standard MSX 2 button joypad I get no inputs working at all, and with the MD 3 and 6 button gamepad left, right and button 2 does not work.
As for make clean, I would've suspected this had I not done a make clean to begin with - I dont normally compile MESS at all unless I'm doing it from scratch because in the past it used to be a real pain to compile with anything leftover from MAME. I'll do it again and see if it helps though, at the very least the text clear fix might help Gemini Wing not look so glitchy.
EDIT: Oh, now I see! The actual joystick functions are default binded to physical joysticks on the computer, not the keyboard! Seems Thunder Force II allows ZX/Arrows as part of its normal keyboard coding. I feel like an idiot now.
