Try out 12MB RAM to see what happen. If the issue still there then gotta be something else where.

NetBSD needs more than 4MB RAM, with -ramsize broken currently, you can only modify the driver to set more RAM. Currently, it still doesn't get past the SCSI drive settling bit.
